Love In The Time Of Ferias

There is a lot of it happening in Medellin, Colombia this week. Festival season is here and the city is alive with a fiery buzz, albeit a lot of the antsiness is about getting off work early to go drink with friends in the streets. It is no secret that Colombia is inhabited with very friendly people who love to talk, laugh, and party; and here in Medellin this spirit is literally reflected all around the city with huge heart monuments.

For the Feria of Flores, which is underway this week, the Pro-Colombia campaign “Colombia es Pasion” has placed their signature hearts all around the city. The idea is to re-brand Colombia with the collection of artistic hearts that have factoids about Colombia. The hearts have been displayed in various countries and the other day we came across a bunch of the “corazones.” Here we offer a cool peek at the city with a public art project that will soon be gone.
