Verdeo On The Rise

Since opening their doors two years ago, Verdeo has won the reputation as being one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Medellin. Last week they opened up their beautiful new 2-story location two blocks above Parque Lleras in the Provenca sector of Poblado. The old location is now closed and they are now open everyday, excluding Mondays, at Carrera 35 #8a -3.

For those who complain about Medellin’s lack of healthy food options, Verdeo has a table waiting for you. Take a seat and breathe in the familiar elements found in great vegetarian eateries around the world: potted plants, funky design details, and mismatched chairs plucked from some Sunday market.

On to the food, which is where Verdeo truly shines. Dishes feature fresh ingredients and the savory balance found when a good chef is running the kitchen. On the regular menu are tasty wraps and colorful salads and perfectly cooked portobellos, but what sets Verdeo apart is a rotating influx of new and interesting plates that vary from week to week. Menus and updates on weekly specials are posted on their facebook page (search “Verdeo Medellin”). Delivery is available, and they’ll even send you frozen items that you can re-heat and enjoy later.
