Last week a young group of Medellin’s entrepreneurial new school of fashion designers put on a show at Poblado’s hip clothing collective Casa Mango Morado. The event was entitled Reconstruccion and it included more that 20 fashion designers, live music, and a whole lot of cocktails. The idea was to take old clothes that have lost their cool and reconstruct them into new pieces with flash and style.
Medellin is a city built on textile production and here the city’s young vanguard fashionistas, at this event between 18 and 25 years old, are not afraid to take risks and push the bounds. All the clothing for the show is currently on sale at Mango Morado in Poblado (Carrera 37 N. 10 – 24)
