Medellin Hip Hop, Non-Stop!

After meeting a lot of the artists and organizers in the hip hop community of Medellin, it is safe to say one of the key reasons why the movement is so strong is the lack of attitude and pretentiousness. Medellin has a lot of talent across many genres of music, yet many of the other scenes are not as forceful or dedicated as the hip hop one for the simple fact of artist ego. Mind you that not everyone who picks up a mic in the hip hop community is a blazing all-star of flow and rhyme, but the difference is that they all share the stage and support one another and that makes for an environment of openness, experimentation, and freedom of expression. Really cool stuff happening in the Medellin hip hop community.
