Cuba in Medellin – Juana La Cubana
Authenticity never goes out of style, and Medellin’s Juana la Cubana is about as authentic as it gets short of sitting in a restaurant in Old Havana. It’s a great fit here in Barrio Jardines, a traditional neighborhood in Envigado where tastes lean towards classic elements like a simple bottle of rum and the son variety of salsa. The restaurant’s young owners purchased all the decorations on a recent trip to Cuba, and are no strangers to the country’s cuisine after having both trained in its traditional culinary arts.
Juana la Cubana offers lunch and dinner featuring Spanish, African, and Caribbean flavors; enjoy a plate of Ropa Vieja (shredded flank steak in tomato sauce) with a minty Mojito Cocktail as live salsa fills the warm evening air. If you’ve never been to Cuba, here’s the next best thing.
Located on the Envigado frontera: Calle 30S #43A-57Open Tues–Sat 12pm-Midnight, Sun 12pm–3pm
