Blanco del Cielo

Yes, there is a fine dining experience in Poblado without the mobs, foot traffic, and neon of the Parque Lleras epicenter.  Founder Juan Manuel Barrientos’s second restaurant, Blanco del Cielo (The white of the sky) has won numerous national awards for the creativity and quality of his unique dishes.

In comparison to his other restaurant “El Cielo” the “Blanco del Cielo” is a less expensive offering of his signature artisanal cheeses and creative culinary delights.  Housed in a beautiful, all white, cloud-inspired ambiance, Blanco serves lunch and dinner. With one of the largest wine cellars in the city, it is the ideal place to have a glass of wine with exquisite food without seeing your wallet float away along with the clouds.  Plates vary up to 40,000 pesos.

Located a few block above Lleras at Carerra 33 #7-21.

The restaurant looks amazing from the outside. It reminds me of somewhere in Spain or Greece.

Unfortunately, I always dismissed it as being out of my price range. If only restaurants in Medellin would learn to display their menus on the outside.

    Good article.
